RCMP: Drivers can expect to see more road checks

Motorists in the Cowichan Valley can expect to see more road checks starting in July…Impaired Driving Awareness Month.

Sgt. Chris Swain says it’s a team effort between North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP, ICBC, South Island Traffic Services and Alexia’s Bus.

Swain says warm weather can cause some problems on the roads. He says people drink alcohol while taking part in different summer events, like going to the beach, and then end up driving home.
