Body of boating accident victim retrieved from Sproat Lake

RCMP say they’ve found the body of a man killed in a boating accident at Sproat Lake Saturday.

The 41 year old was on a boat that witnesses say flipped, broke up and exploded at high speed. The man’s body was found Sunday morning, along with the wreckage of the boat.

A second man on the boat was badly injured.

RCMP are praising the fast action of bystanders who rescued the injured man.

No names have been released.
