The Municipality of North Cowichan says there’s an algae bloom on Somenos Lake.
The Municipality says the blue-green algae has been spotted near the Drinkwater Road fishing dock.
They’re telling visitors to the lake to avoid areas near any visible blue-green sheen, which appears as surface scum on the lake.
Pet owners are also advised to keep animals on a leash and to prevent them from drinking or swimming in the lake.
