Police seek missing Penelakut woman

Ladysmith RCMP are looking for a missing Penelakut Island woman.

18 year old Delores (Deedee) Brown hasn’t been seen by family or friends since July 27.

The family tells police Brown was headed to her Grandmother’s house in Chemainus, and was seen leaving Penelakut.

The Grandmother has health problems, and couldn’t tell police for sure if Brown ever visited.

Brown has never gone missing before. “This is very out of character for Miss Brown, who has left behind her phone.” says Cpl. Rick Fraser of Ladysmith RCMP. “Her family is very worried.”

RCMP say family, friends and Penelakut community members have been out knocking on doors and searching shorelines without any luck.

Brown is:
•First Nations female
•18 years old
•Approximately 168cm (5’6″) 58kg (120lbs)
•Last seen wearing blue sweatpants and a black and white t-shirt
