Search and Rescue airlifts injured biker over long weekend

Cowichan Search and Rescue had a busy long weekend, undertaking a multiorganizational rescue of a mountain biker. 

CSAR and the Shawnigan Lake Volunteer Fire located the injured biker near the Burnt Bridge area. 

However, an air ambulance could not land near the site and required a “long line team” from Arrowsmith Search and Rescue to lift the man out via helicopter, he was later transferred to a waiting ambulance. 

“Outstanding work to all involved during a very hot deployment. Best wishes for a speedy recovery for the cyclist” said CSAR in a social media post.
