One dead in 3rd Malahat crash in 2 days

A motorcyclist is dead after yet another crash on the Malahat.

RCMP say the rider was heading north around 9 Sunday night, when when his bike crossed the centre-line near Aspen Road and hit an on-coming pick-up.

The three people in truck were injured.

The highway was closed until 1:30 Monday morning.

The accident was the third in two days, on the stretch between Goldstream Provincial Park and Shawnigan Lake Road.

Early Sunday morning, three teens were injured when their car rolled near Finlayson Arm Road.

And on Saturday afternoon 4 people were injured, two seriously, in a head on crash in the same area. RCMP say they suspect impaired driving may have been involved in that one.
