North Cowichan residents have a new digital tool to help them manage their garbage and recycling.
Mayor Jon Lefebure says the Municipality has introduced a “waste wizard” and curbside collection schedule, which can be accessed online, at north.cowichan.ca, or through a mobile app.
“You can now carry it with you and check, as you do for other things, right on your phone,” he says. “It’s a matter of convenience and efficiency. I hope one day it will help us get more information out and use less paper.”
Lefebure says people can use the app to find out what can be recycled and what can’t, as well as where to take those non-recyclable materials.
It also allows you to schedule reminders for curbside collection day.
