An upgrade project at the Town of Lake Cowichan’s Central Park is helping put people who’ve been on EI for a while back to work
The Town is getting just over $37,000 dollars through the province’s Community and Employer Partnership.
Dalton Smith is the Manager of the Town’s Cowichan Lake Education Centre. He’s coordinating the project.
Smith says the workers will get a much-needed pay cheque, and experience in carpentry and trades.
Cowichan Green Community is also getting money through the program to give 5 people training and experience in farming and agriculture, including bee keeping.
