Police: Agricultural prize medals stolen from Cowichan Valley Museum

Police say the Cowichan Valley Museum has notified them that eight agricultural prize medals have been stolen.

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP Cpl. Krista Hobday says staff reported the items missing, just days before the Cowichan Exhibition, after noticing the medals weren’t in the display case.

She says it’s tough to say when they were taken because a light was burnt out in the case and nobody broke into the building.

Hobday says the museum staff are devastated.

Hobday says people should keep an eye out for them in places like pawn shops or antique stores. She says collectors have also been notified.
