Alexander Elementary School in flames as of this morning

A local elementary school is on fire in the Cowichan Valley.

According to the Cowichan Valley Neighbourhood Watch on social media, the fire was reported last night, located in the rear section/annex front entrance and interior of Alexander Elementary School.

Witnesses describe the fire as a huge orange glow, with possible fire through the school’s windows.

Two trucks arrived on scene, that evening, where they were able to knock down the fire, but after discovering a more aggressive fire inside the building, they called for assistance.

Currently, four trucks are on-scene to deal with the situation.
