A Ladysmith RCMP officer has now been suspended with pay as he awaits a court hearing for three charges.
40-year-old Jason Sammoun has been charged with two counts of sexual assault with a weapon and another of uttering threats.
All three incidents occurred on April 1, 2024, with both sexual assaults happening in Nanaimo, while the threats happened in Victoria.
According to court documents, Sammoun is not being held in custody and his first court appearance is set for January 30.
