Local governments to ease up on watering restrictions

Cowichan Valley local governments say there’s been enough rain recently, and demand is trailing off as we get close to fall, so they can ease up on watering restrictions.

Starting Friday, the region will move to Stage 2 restrictions.

But, at least one forecaster is predicting the overall warm trend will continue into fall and winter which could spell trouble for the snow pack again.

Stage 2 will stay in place for the Cowichan Valley until the end of October.
