Ladysmith fire evacuates Buller Street residence again

A kitchen fire is to blame for residents needing to evacuate the Heart on the Hill complex in Ladysmith yesterday.

According to witnesses, the fire broke out at the Buller Street complex after a resident left something cooking on the stove. When the fire broke out, the resident attempted to extinguish it with a blanket.

There is no word on how long residents were evacuated from the building, and there has been no indication that any damage was done to the unit or the building.

The facility was vacated for a similar kitchen fire in July, and no damage was caused in that blaze.
