RCMP investigates kidnapping in Duncan

The RCMP have arrested and charged one man, and are looking for a second following a kidnapping in Duncan.

The North Cowichan Duncan RCMP received a report on February 19th of two men assaulting a person and forcing them into a vehicle near Queen’s Street.

The vehicle was found the same day, a suspect was arrested and the vehicle was seized.

The victim of the kidnapping, a male, was located and is safe.

The RCMP says it has charged Jamie Peckett with kidnapping, assault with a weapon, assault and possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He remains in custody awaiting his next court appearance.

The investigation remains ongoing, with police actively working to identify the second suspect.
