Province launches ‘Buy BC’ ad campaign, expands efforts to promote local food

The province is making it easier to identify food products grown and made in BC, and is now launching a promotional ad campaign.

Premier David Eby made the announcement today at a Save-On Foods store in Vancouver, accompanied by one of the province’s largest greenhouse tomato growers, and the new president of the Save-On grocery chain.

“The goal here is, to address those government policies and ensure we have the programs in place to have that seamless food security for British Columbians,” he says. “The farmers are producing the food, processors are processing the food, and retailers are retailing Canadian and British Columbia food to British Columbians.

Eby says with US tariffs threatening to impact BC’s food supply chain, It’s more important than ever to promote and support local food production. The province’s Buy BC label campaign already identifies more than 8,100 products and is adding more.
