BC Coroner IDs man who died after driving SUV off Mill Bay dock

The BC Coroners Service has identified the man who died after his SUV went into the water off the Mill Bay ferry ramp.

89-year-old John William Barton of Saanich was found dead on September 18th after an RCMP dive team located his body in the SUV.

Police say Barton crashed through a barrier and went into the water shortly after 8am on that day. The ferry was not at the dock at the time

The BC Coroners Service continues to investigate this death.
