Police are investigating an incident in Shawnigan Lake over the weekend after two dogs were hurt, including one being shot.
Cowichan and District SPCA branch manager Sandi Trent says one of the two dogs was surrendered to them after the owner found it badly hurt.
Trent says the dog that was shot is expected to make a recovery, while the other one needed a couple of stitches.
She says the owner has received a lot of community support since the incident. Trent says they are trying to raise money to cover the vet bill so the dog can return home.
