Investigation into Crofton fire continues, North Cowichan Fire Department

North Cowichan Fire Department says they’re still investigating the cause of a structure fire in Crofton after a shop caught fire yesterday.

Firefighters from Crofton, Maple Bay, and South End fire halls responded to the call around 1:45 in the afternoon and added the blaze also spread to an RV park nearby.

North Cowichan Fire Chief Ron French says several units responded to the fire, and with the size of the blaze they had additional crews on backup in Chemainus just to be extra cautious.

The investigation is now being investigated by the North Cowichan Fire Department fire inspector and the RCMP to determine the cause.
