Nanaimo RCMP arrest five, seize large amount of fentanyl

Nanaimo RCMP say they’ve arrested five people and made a significant dent in the region’s trade in fentanyl.

The two men and three women were arrested after searches of a home and vehicle in the 21-hundred block of Bowen Road on Monday.

Cst. Gary O’Brien says police seized 87 grams of fentanyl along with 61 grams of crack cocaine.

Three of the five suspects have been released, but one man and one woman are being held in custody.  The man faces additional charges of possession of stolen property.
