Steelhead gets export licenses for Island projects

Steelhead LNG says the National Energy Board approval of export licenses for two projects on Vancouver Island is an important step, but very much the beginning of the work they need to do

Steelhead LNG is working with First Nations in Sarita Bay near Port Alberni and Bamberton on Saanich Inlet (in partnership with the Malahat FN).

Steelhead LNG’s C-E-O Nigel Kuzemko says they’ll be ramping up their community consultations, and working on other approvals.

even though there’s only two projects, Steelhead has been granted 5 export licenses

Kuzemko says they wanted flexibility to consider breaking up the project in Sarita Bay into 4 smaller projects.
