Updated – Network disruption cancels meetings at Municipality of North Cowichan

Updated – June 11 The Municipality of North Cowichan says its networks are operational, with phone and email systems back to normal. The municipality says there may be delays in responding to emails and voicemails received during Tuesday’s outage.

Two meetings scheduled for Tuesday afternoon were cancelled by North Cowichan due to a network disruption affecting phone lines and email systems at Municipal Hall and the Operations building.

The meetings affected were the 4:30 pm Special Closed Committee of the Whole meeting and the 5 pm Committee of the Whole meeting.

In a post on social media North Cowichan asked people to call the after-hours phone number (250-746-5112) for urgent matters such as water main breaks.

The Municipality says the cancelled meetings will be rescheduled to a future date.
