New Democrats lead, Conservatives second in latest polls for local ridings

The newest polls funded by One Cowichan and the Dogwood Initiative show the New Democrats leading in the local ridings with the federal election less than two weeks away

In Cowichan-Malahat-Langford, the NDP have 26 per cent of the support, with the Conservatives at 21, the Greens at 14 and the Liberals at 10. 26 per cent were undecided.

In Nanaimo-Ladysmith, the NDP sit at 25 per cent, the Conservatives at 19, the Greens at 15 and the Liberals at 13.  27 per cent were undecided.

Mario Canseco is the vice president of public affairs at Insights West, which conducted the surveys.

The Insights West polls have a fairly large margin of error: plus or minus 4.9 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
