A significant quantity of drugs has been seized by Salt Spring Island RCMP after successfully executing multiple search warrants.
According to police, they assisted the Island District RCMP Investigations Section in an ongoing drug trafficking investigation on August 14 that yielded a seizure of illicit drugs, including cocaine.
Police believe the drugs were part of a trafficking ring based on the evidence.
Salt Spring Island detachment commander sergeant Clive Seabrook says the investigation is continuing, but the seizure shows how they’re keeping the streets clean.
“We want to ensure the community is aware of our proactive steps towards targeting those individuals who prey on the vulnerability of others and by removing drugs off the street,” Seabrook says.
