Rock of the Woods organizers apply for three-year permit for Sahtlam site

Rock of the Woods could be taking place in Sahtlam for at least three more summers.

Coordinator Kelly Black says an application has been made to the CVRD for a three-year temporary permit for the four-day indie rock music festival.

The CVRD director for that area is Alison Nicholson. She says some residents are concerned about the length of the permit and the direction the festival is heading.

The festival continues to stir conversation as supporters like what it does for the local music scene and exposure, while naysayers suggest it’s too noisy and is a problem for the environment.
