Ladysmith mayor open to talking with boat owners from Dogpatch

Ladysmith Mayor Aaron Stone says the door is open to working with boat owners who’ve been told to clear out of the area known as Dogpatch.

Eviction notices were delivered last month… telling owners their vessels had to be moved by November 15th.

Now, a group called the “Ladysmith Harbour Community” is asking for a meeting with Town officials.

Stone says he’s been in touch with them, and he’s hoping they’ll join a working group to look at options.

Ladysmith Harbour Community group, though, says its goal is to find a way to stay at their current moorings in the harbour.
