Duncan temporarily suspends organic waste pickup due to broken garbage truck

Organic waste pickup in Duncan has been temporarily suspended because the City’s garbage truck is broken.

Officials say the truck broke down on Wednesday and it will take a couple of days to fix.

They say, in the meantime, regular garbage service will continue thanks to the help of North Cowichan as the Municipality has lent one of its’ trucks, albeit the truck can’t pick up organics.

The City wants to thank North Cowichan for helping out and apologizes for any problems the service interruption may cause.
