Crash kills Ladysmith woman; man facing charges

Nanaimo RCMP say a 39 year old man is facing charges after a fatal accident last night in Cedar.

A 51 year old woman from Ladysmith died when two pick-ups collided on Yellow Point Road around 7:30.

RCMP say the driver of the second truck took off, and was tracked down by RCMP about an hour later on Cedar Road. He was arrested for refusing to give a breath sample and leaving the scene of an accident.

The man suffered minor injuries, and was taken to NRGH after his arrest.
