B.C. Transportation Minister Todd Stone is promising more safety barriers for the Malahat, following a fatal crash on Wednesday morning.
Stone says he was told the multi-vehicle crash that killed one person was caused by a vehicle that hit black ice and crossed into the other lane.
The crash shut down the highway between Shawnigan Lake Road and Goldstream Provincial Park for several hours.
