Duncan’s Matraea Centre, others looking to raise money for Syrian refugees

The Matraea Centre in Duncan has joined the Cowichan Intercultural Society and PLAN Canada in an attempt to raise money for overseas.

The centre’s managing partner Rupert Koyote says the plan is to get local businesses, organizations, schools, etc, to raise 500 dollars each.

He says the overall goal is $25,000, which will be matched by the federal government.

Donations can be made online at the Matraea Centre’s website.
