Malahat crash victim ID’d

The Coroners Service has released the name of a man killed in a crash on the Malahat on November 18th.

He was 33 year old David Paulin of Victoria.

The collision happened around 7:30 in the morning; Paulin was in a car that was hit by one that crossed the center line, South of Shawnigan Lake Road near Malahat Village.

RCMP have suggested speed and slick road conditions may have been factors.

The accident spurred calls to move faster on planned improvements for that stretch of highway – including barriers.
