Police looking for purse apparently stolen from elderly woman in Duncan

Police are on the lookout for a light brown purse after it appears somebody stole one right outside of the Save-On Foods in Duncan.

74-year-old local Jeannette Ponath says she called North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP on Thursday morning around 8am when she couldn’t find her purse at the grocery store.

She says she accidentally left it on the ground when she was sitting on a bench outside, and now it’s gone.

Ponath says she had her wallet in the purse, however, she doesn’t own any credit cards and had her bank card with her. If you know anything about this incident please get in touch with the local RCMP detachment.
