This year’s “Stuff the Truck” food drive raised about 15,000 pounds of non-perishable food items for those in need and another $7,000 in cash to buy more food.
And, people will still be able to buy hampers at the Save-On Foods in Duncan to donate over the weekend.
The drive will be capped off with the first annual “Feeding Our Families” event at the Ocean View Restaurant in Cowichan Bay on Sunday.
Chef Terry Giannakos says anyone that brings a donation, or needs some food, will be able to enjoy a roast turkey dinner.
The event is taking place between noon and 8pm.
