Linking farmers to purchasers

An information session is being held today (Thurs) for farmers who are interested in selling products to institutional purchasers, like grocery stores and even hospitals.
The session is being hosted by the Cowichan Green Community and anyone interested can attend.
The Community’s Judy Stafford says some farmers in the Saanich region have set up grow-to-order contracts which can offer some stability……
Stafford says farmers should come prepared to discuss the crops they are interested in growing, in what volumes and at what price point….

The session goes from 11:30am to 1:00pm at the Cowichan Green Community on Duncan Street.
If you want to attend it’s a good idea to call ahead.
