Credit card skimmer hit in the Cowichan Valley

Police in the Cowichan Valley say people in crowds need to protect their personal information from card skimmers.

A card skimmer is a small electronic device that can read your credit card numbers through your purse or a wallet in a back pocket once the suspect gets it close enough.

RCMP Corporal Krista Hobday says that information is sold to fraudsters….

A suspicious man was using the crowds at a fair in Duncan recently.

Hobday says police are not sure if the suspect is a local man or someone who travels with the fair.
