North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are confirming the discovery of a body in a York Road parking lot
RCMP say they had a call around 6:30 in the morning, about a man who may have been in “medical distress” near the Kim Wah restaurant on York.
Sgt Chris Swain says when officers got there they found the man dead.
He says at this point they are treating the death as suspicious, although there’s been nothing to suggest foul play.
Swain says investigators are also working to confirm the man’s identity and notify next of kin, and they’re asking the public to avoid the area to let police get on with their work.
