Shawnigan Lake School ready for new multi-million dollar ice arena

A ground-breaking ceremony for a new multi-million dollar ice arena at Shawnigan Lake School took place over the weekend.

The headmaster of the school is David Robertson.

He says the project has a completion date for mid-January of next year.

Robertson says the construction of a new arena will give the school’s boys and girls hockey program a big boost.

He adds the recent Olympic double gold by the men and women’s national hockey teams really identified how important the sport is to Canadians.
