NDP nomination meeting for Cow-Malahat-Langford on Jan. 25 in Duncan

The NDP nomination race for the federal riding of Cowichan-Malahat-Langford is this weekend in Duncan.
Six candidates are vying for the position that will soon be left open by departing MP Jean Crowder, who will be retiring after many years as the local representative in Parliament.
Hilary Abbott, Alistair Macgregor, Ellen Oxman, Ian Morrison, Nick Wade and Georgia Collins are all in the running.
Sue Balding is the president of the local NDP riding association. She says theres roughly 1000 card carrying party members in our area.
Balding says it usually takes an hour for the ballots to come in and the results to be counted. The federal election is coming up no later then October this year.
