Rowing Canada wants to build a new National Rowing Centre of Excellence, and they’re eyeing up Quamichan Lake.
It’s on a list along with a few other locations throughout Southwestern BC.
Dave Devana is the Chief Administrative Officer for the Municipality of North Cowichan. He says they’re excited about the prospect.
He says the lake is appealing because it’s sheltered and relatively calm.
Devana the he expects that Rowing Canada will do the feasibility study in the fall or over the winter. Public consultations would be part of the process.
