CVRD increases water restrictions as drought conditions continue

Water restrictions are increasing across the Cowichan Valley starting today, to aid in conservation as drought conditions continue.

All regions are being asked to observe Stage 2 restrictions, with Shellwood and Dogwood water systems moving to Stage 3.

The district says during this time, sprinkling and using conventional irrigation systems is allowed for a maximum of two hours, and depending on your address you’re restricted to either Wednesday or Sunday evenings.

Even numbered addresses may water on Wednesday, while odd numbers are being asked to use Sunday between the hours of 7 and 9 p.m.

For more about water conservation across the CVRD visit the district’s website.

Restrictions start today.
