The Cowichan Valley Regional District is set to move to Stage 3 water restrictions next week.
The CVRD said it will shift to Stage 3 on July 3 in an effort to conserve water, with forecasters predicting continued drought conditions through the summer.
Stage 3 restrictions prohibit watering lawns and all use of sprinklers and conventional irrigation.
Outdoor water use will be limited to drip irrigation or hand-watering of food and ornamental gardens before 9 a.m. or after 7 p.m., the CVRD said.
The CVRD said the Shellwood and Dogwood water systems are moving to Stage 4.
