The Cowichan Valley Regional District said the new Cobble Hill Community Stage at Cobble Hill Commons Park is complete.

The new amenity provides an elevated, covered concrete performance stage for outdoor concerts, small productions and events.

The CVRD said the park can accommodate informal seating for hundreds of guests in the grassed area in front of the stage.

Some performances have already been scheduled, including the annual Music in the Park series and the 117th annual Cobble Hill Fair on Aug. 22.

“The new Cobble Hill Community Stage is ready right on time to welcome all to enjoy this important community space for the summer and many years to come,” said Mike Wilson, director for Electoral Area C – Cobble Hill.

The project was funded through a $447,000 grant from the federal government’s Communities Strong Fund.
