Deconstruction of École Davis Road site in Ladysmith set to begin

Deconstruction of the former École Davis Road site in Ladysmith is scheduled to begin this week.

The Town of Ladysmith says the work will make way for a new, fully accessible K-to-7 French immersion dual-track school with 390 seats and new outdoor recreation spaces. The provincial government has confirmed the new school will replace Ladysmith Intermediate and is expected to begin construction in spring 2027.

The Davis Road Dog Park will remain open during deconstruction but is expected to close in mid-2027 when construction of the new school begins.

The town says it is exploring options to relocate the dog park.

Deconstruction is expected to be completed this fall.
