Duncan RCMP seeking assistance for break and enter investigation

The North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in a break-and-enter investigation.

Officers responded to an alarm at the Ginger Room salon on Craig Street on Aug. 17 at about 6:21 a.m. Police say someone entered through the front door.

“Video surveillance showed the suspect entering the business and went directly to the front counter where the cash register was located,” reads a news release from the RCMP. “It is unknown what was taken at this time. Business owners are urged to utilize a floor or mountable safe to store money and valuables, if required on site.”

Police describe the suspect as a Caucasian man with a medium build who was wearing all black, including a backpack with a teal-coloured container on the side.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation can contact the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at 250-748-5522.
