Woman arrested after RCMP search in Maple Bay, Mount Tzouhalem

North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP say a woman who was the subject of a police search in the Mount Tzouhalem and Maple Bay areas earlier this month has been located.

Police say frontline officers found and arrested the woman Sept. 15 in connection with an ongoing investigation.

She was held in custody and appeared in court before being released on conditions.

“The active search has concluded, and there is no ongoing risk to public safety related to this investigation,” says Cst. Tessa McDonald. “We would like to thank the public for their cooperation, patience and assistance throughout the search and investigation.”

RCMP say she is scheduled to return to court at a later date.

Police say no further details will be released as the matter is before the courts.
