Allenby Road closure extended until spring

Allenby Road in Duncan will remain closed between Boys Road and Miller Road until spring 2027.

The province says the closure has been extended to allow crews to complete permanent slope stabilization and related road improvements following damage caused by flooding in 2021.

“The additional time is required to ensure the safety of citizens and work crews and to restore the road to two-lane traffic,” the province said in a news release.

Local access will be maintained, and drivers are being directed to use Highway 1 as an alternative route.

The province is encouraging drivers to plan ahead, follow signs and obey traffic-control personnel.
