The Shawnigan Lake candidate forum goes Thursday, September 26 and three people are in the running for the position of Area Director.
The three candidates running in the byelection: Sierra Acton, Larry Jorginson, and Bill Savage are all looking to replace Green Party MLA for the Cowichan Valley, Sonia Fursteneau, who won her seat in May’s provincial election.
President of the Shawnigan Lake Residents Association, Calvin Cook says it’s important for locals to show up and hear from the candidates.
Cook says there are a few hot-button issues in the Village.
The second advanced poll is set for 7 p.m. on September 26 at Shawnigan Lake School.
On September 30, people can vote by heading to the Shawnigan Lake Community Centre or Easter Seals Camp Shawnigan.
The first advanced poll went on September 20, and 84 people cast their ballot.
