Island artists featured on new Royal Canadian Mint collectables

Three Island artists have their work featured on new, limited-edition collectable coins from the Royal Canadian Mint this summer.

Junior Henderson from Campbell River has his work, titled Cycle of Life, featured on a limited-edition silver $100 coin. Only 750 have been minted. It depicts an adult salmon protecting a juvenile, and features gold highlights.

Glen Green, also from Campbell River, has his work featured as the first coin in this year’s Wondrous Waters series. His design of orcas swimming past an island is featured on a pure silver $20 coin.

And North Island artist Jason Henry Hunt has his design of an eagle featured on a $30 silver coin, it’s in Kwakiutl style with gold highlights.
