CVRD seeks feedback on draft Old Baldy Mountain Park management plan

The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) is seeking feedback on its draft Old Baldy Mountain Park management plan.

The draft plan aims to set key values to guide care and management of the park for the next 10 to 15 years.

The CVRD said the draft management plan has been developed based on input received during Phase 1 engagement, background research, site analysis and ongoing discussions with First Nations.

“During Phase 1 engagement, the community shared what they value about the park, current concerns and ideas for future improvements,” said the CVRD in a statement. “This input, along with technical information and ongoing planning work, has been used to prepare a draft management plan.”

In the second phase of engagement, residents can review the draft plan and confirm whether the proposed directions reflect community values, park use, environmental considerations and long-term priorities for Old Baldy Mountain Park.

Feedback can be submitted through a survey on the regional district’s website. Responses are due June 10.
