CVRD encouraging residents to take advantage of water conservation rebates

The Cowichan Valley Regional District is reminding residents to take advantage of its water conservation rebate program.

The regional district said protecting and conserving water resources is more important than ever as communities face the impacts of climate change.

Available rebates include up to $50 for rain barrels, $300 for soil amendments, $450 for smart irrigation systems and up to $1,000 for cisterns.

The CVRD said the rebates and incentives are intended to help residential property owners conserve water and encourage sustainable water use.
