Western toad migration season is underway, and the Cowichan Valley Regional District is reminding residents to watch for the small amphibians.
CVRD Recreation said juvenile toads are migrating from the wetlands where they were born to their terrestrial habitats.
Migration hot spots have been reported around Sahtlam, Glenora and Cowichan Station.
The toadlets are vulnerable to vehicle and bicycle traffic during migration.
The CVRD is asking residents to slow down and watch for toads at regional parks and trails, particularly around the Cowichan Valley Trail.
